Registered unemployment in the country in April was 5.7%, according to the administrative statistics of the Employment Agency. The department reported a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous March. The number of registered unemployed citizens was a total of 161,049, which is a decrease of 2,586 people.

There was an increase in the number of people who started work in April – they were 16,263, which is 2,031 more than the previous month. A total of 287 pensioners, students and employed people also found work with the support of the labour offices. In April, 22,159 new unemployed persons were registered at the labour offices. The number of vacancies on the primary market, which received applications also increased - in April they were 15,636 compared to 14,706 in the previous month.

There most vacancies were in the processing industry, trade, hotels and restaurants, state administration, administrative and auxiliary activities and construction. The most wanted by businesses in April were personnel in the field of personal services; waste collection and related workers; workers in agriculture, forestry and fisheries; etc.
