Bulgaria's preparations for World Expo 2025 in Osaka are on schedule. This became clear during a meeting of the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) Dr. Boyko Takov with the Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria Hisashi Michigami, the press office of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth said on Friday.

Takov and Michigami discussed the vision and organization for Bulgaria's presentation. The two agreed that just as the Japanese have come to love Bulgaria after Expo 1970, so in 2025 Bulgaria should present what binds the two nations today - ancient culture and history, respect for traditions and Bulgaria's achievements and innovations.

The BSMEPA was appointed in 2022 by the Council of Ministers to organize Bulgaria's participation in EXPO 2025. It will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025 in Osaka under the motto " Designing Future Society for Our Lives".

This year, Bulgaria was able to rent the highest type of pavilion "A" without having to increase the government's allocation in 2022 for the lower class pavilion "B". The total budget is just over BGN 6.5 million, of which nearly BGN 3.5 million is for the rental of the pavilion.

The two officials also had an online conversation with representatives of the Japanese company selected as the landlord of the Bulgarian pavilion - DAIWA LEASE CO. LTD. The company assured that the organization is on schedule.

The next step is to launch a procedure to invite Bulgarian companies for conceptual proposals for the interior design of the pavilion. According to Dr. Takov, the procedure will be announced in the coming days.

The Japanese Ambassador stressed the importance of developing a suitable interior design to represent Bulgaria's image and its achievements in the fields of culture, business, science, technology and ecology, as well as the good relations between Bulgaria and Japan.
