Saxony Regional Minister Schmidt Awarded Honoris Causa Doctorate from Trakia University

Thomas Schmidt, Minister for Regional Development of the German state of Saxony, has been awarded the Honoris Causa Doctorate from the Trakia University. The award ceremony took place during the opening of the SIMUL+ International Forum in Stara Zagora on Friday.

Schmidt received the honorary title for his significant contribution to international partnership between Trakia University and Saxony by supporting regional development, creating sustainable mechanisms for technology transfer to business, and promoting exchange of experience between institutions in Saxony and Stara Zagora, as well as between the scientific communities of both sides.

Trakia University in Stara Zagora hosts the SIMUL+ International Forum, organized in cooperation with Saxony's Regional Development Ministry and with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sofia.
