Deputy Foreign Minister Nevyana Miteva has been appointed by caretaker Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dimitar Glavchev as the national coordinator for the fight against anti-Semitism, the press centre of the line ministry said on Thursday.
A 2022 Council of Ministers’ decision states that the position of national coordinator is established at the level of Deputy Foreign Minister, determined by order of the Foreign Minister. This ensures continuity and better coordination of efforts to counter anti-Semitism. With the institutionalization of the post of the national coordinator for the fight against anti-Semitism, one of the commitments undertaken by Bulgaria during the 2021 Malmö International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism is fulfilled.
Bulgaria will continue to work within international organizations and in cooperation with its partners to counter all forms of discrimination and intolerance, including modern manifestations of anti-Semitism, the announcement said.
