The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) received Thursday an award for full and accurate coverage of the events included in the National Children's Book Festival in Sliven. BTA was awarded a statuette and a diploma by Regional Library Sava Dobroplodni Director Rositsa Petrova at the closing press conference of the event. BTA is a media partner of the Festival, which took place between May 8-10.
More than 7,000 participants took part in the twenty-sixth edition, Petrova said. The programme included ten premieres of new children's books, eight presentations by Bulgarian publishers, several exhibitions, the presentation of the Konstantin Konstantinov Award for contribution to children's book publishing, a scientific forum with international participation, concerts, performances, a carnival procession, etc.
The Regional Library Director described the National Children's Book Festival as unique forum that was the first to draw attention to children's books in Bulgaria and to their creators. It has been maintaining and developing that attention for more than a quarter of a century, annually presenting the best achievements in the world of children's literature.
