The elections for both the European and Bulgarian Parliaments provide an opportunity to make a serious blow to the status quo and Bulgaria to return to the fold of independent states, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said at a press conference at the BTA National Press Club in Kardzhali, southern Bulgaria.

"Bulgaria's Euro-Atlantic course is exhausted, it is over. It is time to start talking about a Bulgarian path of development," Kostadinov said, urging people to vote. Kostadinov said that for the sake of Bulgaria, Vazrazhdane is willing to talk about a government with the other political forces, but without the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, and under certain conditions, two of which relate to Bulgaria's membership in NATO and the EU.

According to him, it is not excluded that there will be new elections in the autumn. He did not rule out the possibility of forming a Vazrazhdane government.
