President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) Julian Revalski participated in the 63rd plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Tirana. During the 68th PABSEC Bureau meeting, he was elected PABSEC Special Representative to the international organizations working in the field of science and education for a period of five years, the BAS announced Thursday.
During his visit to Tirana, the BAS President met with his Albanian counterpart, Skender Gjinushi. They discussed the role of the Academies in the activities of PABSEC; the bilateral relations between the two Academies and the possibilities for concrete scientific projects in the light of the recent changes in the Academy of Sciences of Albania. The meeting was also attended by the Attaché for Culture and Education at the Bulgarian Embassy in Tirana, Asen Pachev, the release said.
The PABSEC meeting on May 13, 14 and 15 marked the end of the Albanian Parliament's presidency in the Assembly. The organization’s members are Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkiye, and Ukraine.
