Bulgaria’s Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, will attend the meetings of the EU and NATO Military Committees, which will take place on May 15 and 16 in Brussels, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.
The session starts on 15 May with the meeting of the EU's highest military authority. The Allied Chiefs of Defence will examine topical issues on the EU agenda in the light of current geopolitical developments, provide additional military expertise on the work streams and make recommendations for the future development of the Alliance's initiatives.
On May 16, the NATO Military Committee meeting agenda includes topical issues on the challenges and priorities facing Europe in today's complex security environment. The meeting precedes the NATO Summit in Washington and will provide an opportunity to assess progress on the main military contribution: Accelerating Adaptation and Strengthening Alliance’s Deterrence and Defence.
