BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party for all constituencies for the June 9 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective party/coalition, the candidates themselves and other official sources of information.

A total of 31 parties and coalitions have registered for the June 9, 2024 national elections in Veliko Tarnovo. The candidates total 270, according to the Constituency Election Commission.

The order follows the sequential numbers on the ballots, as drawn by the Central Election Commission:

  1. There Is Such a People: Andrey Chorbanov. Deputy Chairman of the 49th National Assembly, MP of the 45th, 46th, 47th and 49th National Assemblies. Graduated in Biology from Sofia University. Immunologist at the Institute of Microbiology with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences;
  2. Glas Naroden [People's Voice] Party: Svilen Hristov. Graduated in Music Pedagogy from Veliko Tarnovo University. Guitarist, light engineer at the Bulgarian Army Theatre;
  3. Blue Bulgaria Coalition (nine parties: Conservative Alliance of the Right (KOD); Bulgarian Democratic Forum; Democratic Action Movement; National Movement for Stability and Upsurge; Bulgaria of the Citizens Movement; Conservative Bulgaria Party; Radical Democratic Party in Bulgaria; Bulgarian New Democracy Party; Agrarian People's Union): Miroslav Evtimov. Graduated in Political Science and International Relations, specializing in Arab Studies, from Veliko Tarnovo University. Lawyer. Member of the party's national leadership;
  4. We the Citizens Coalition (three parties: Bulgarian Spring; Competence, Responsibility and Truth (KOI); Bulgarian Workers'-Peasants' Party): Petar Patsev. Graduated in Bulgarian Language and History from Veliko Tarnovo University. Held various managerial positions in culture and education. Former municipal councillor. Author of five books of poems;
  5. No registered list of candidates;
  6. Bulgarian Voice Party: Veselin Yanakiev. Graduated from the National Sports Academy. Physical education teacher, wrestling coach;
  7. Rose Coalition (three parties: Bulgarian Social Democracy - EuroLeft; United Labour Bloc Bulgarian Labourists; Rodolyubie 2000): Yordan Yakov. Master of Transport Construction and of Economic Management. Ran for mayor on the Bulgarian Social Democracy - EuroLeft list in 2023;
  8. Centre Coalition (two parties: Svoboda [Freedom]; Bulgarian Agrarian Party): Pencho Kasarov. Graduated in Medicine from Stara Zagora University, Master of Finance from the Academy of Economics of Svishtov. Co-founder of the Svoboda party;
  9. Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition: Simeon Milanov. Master of History from Sofia University. Pursuing a doctoral degree in history at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences;
  10. Edinenie [Unity] Party: Chavdar Hristanov. Owns a bread bakery. Student at Plovdiv's University of Food Technologies. Municipal councillor in Pleven;
  11. Bulgarian National Alliance (BNO) Party: Stefan Kakamakov. Worked in the Interior Ministry's system for 10 years. Ambulance driver for 14 years now;
  12. Vazrazhdane Party: Stanislav Stoyanov. Bachelor of Applied Linguistics, Master of European Integration from Veliko Tarnovo University. Master of European Public Administration from the University of Liege, Belgium. Business analyst. MP of the 48th and 49th National Assemblies (also tops the list for the European election);
  13. Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) Party: Teodora Licheva. PhD in National Security;
  14. Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria Coalition (four parties: Continue the Change; VOLT; Democrats for Strong Bulgaria; Yes, Bulgaria Movement): Lyudmila Ilieva. Lawyer (2001-2022). Appointed Veliko Tarnovo Regional Governor in 2022. MP of the 48th and 49th National Assemblies. Member of the Legal Affairs Committee and Deputy Chair of the Internal Security and Public Order Committee;
  15. The Truth and Nothing but the Truth People's Party: Bahredin Saliev. Lives in Germany. Owns a small transport company;
  16. Bulgarian Rise Party: Obreshko Nechev. Lawyer. Former director of the Labour Office in Veliko Tarnovo;
  17. Civic Bloc Coalition (Radicals Bulgarian Democratic Union, Bulgarian Women's Party): Maria Karagyozova. Master of Finance and of National Security from the University of National and World Economy. Founder and chair (seven terms) of the Civic Council with the Supreme Judicial Council. Participates in law-making as a representative of civil society. Has managed over 40 projects for the prevention of transnational crime, corruption, migration and criminal offences against the cultural heritage;
  18. Society for New Bulgaria Party: Miroslav Ipolitov. Master of Finance, Insurance and Social Policies and of Industrial Management from the Academy of Economics of Svishtov. Businessman;
  19. The Left! Coalition (ABV (Alternative for Bulgarian Revival), Movement 21, Green Party, Alexander Stamboliiski Agrarian Party, National Movement for Salvation of the Fatherland, Social Democrats Political Movement): Tatyana Doncheva. Graduated in Law from Sofia University. Chair of Movement 21. Lawyer since 1992. MP of the 38th, 39th and 40th National Assemblies;
  20. Party of the Greens: Yordan Bogdanov. Master of Economic Geography from the South-West University of Blagoevgrad, Master of Public Administration and of Finance and Accounting from Veliko Tarnovo University. Accountant;
  21. Here We Come Party: Svetlozar Kirov. Lawyer;
  22. GERB-UDF Coalition (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) and Union of Democratic Forces (UDF)): Kostadin Angelov. Master of Medicine, of Public Health and Health Management, and of Finance. Doctor, head of Academic Activity at the Department of Surgery of the Medical University of Sofia. Executive Director of Alexandrovska Hospital. Former health minister. Member of GERB's Executive Committee. Six-time top-of-the-list candidate in Veliko Tarnovo (also tops the list in Varna);
  23. Bulgarian National Union New Democracy Party: Dimitar Dimitrov. Worked in construction and agriculture. Tops the party's list for the fourth time;
  24. BSP for Bulgaria Coalition (Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP); Ecoglasnost Political Club; Trakia Political Club): Atanas Zafirov. Born in Burgas in 1971. Graduated in Bulgarian Language and History and in Finance from Veliko Tarnovo University. Master of National Security from the G.S. Rakovski National Defence Academy in Sofia. MP of seven National Assemblies (also tops the list in Haskovo);
  25. Velichie [Grandeur] Party: Pavlin Petrov. Born in Veliko Tarnovo in 1967. Master of Accounting and Control from the Academy of Economics of Svishtov. Worked as regional manager of several commercial banks. CFO of a construction company since 2023;
  26. VMRO-Bulgarian National Movement Party: Milen Mihov. VMRO Deputy Chair, Chair of the VMRO Regional Committee in Veliko Tarnovo. MP of the 43rd and 44th National Assemblies. University lecturer, Associate Professor (History);
