site.btaUPDATED CC-DB: 80% of Bulgarians Want Change
Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) co-leader Assen Vassilev met with supporters in Razgrad on Monday. Vassilev and CC-DB candidates for members of Parliament from Razgrad's 18th multi-member constituency took questions about matters of importance on Bulgaria's agenda.
Vassilev said that sociological surveys show there is a majority of 80% who dislike how the country looks at present. In his words, this majority want a European financial model, and not the old model of the "meager pizza". "The question is, if this majority of Bulgarian citizens truly exists according to sociological agencies, why these things happen with such difficulty. And they happen with such difficulty, because this majority is missing in Parliament. It is missing in Parliament, because half of the people stay at home and do not vote," he argued.
In Targovishte, CC-DB co-leader Kiril Petkov told the formation's supporters that 80% of people in Bulgaria are dissatisfied with what they have, with the judicial system, the healthcare system, the security services, and the education system. They want change, not status quo, but do not know the change depends on them, Petkov said. "Our community is big, healthy, already well-organized and unavoidable. If we manage to show that in these elections and afterwards form a huge group both in Parliament and as voters, the others will have to start taking us into consideration," he noted, and called for high voter turnout.
