Bulgaria's Finance Ministry has placed a new issue of six-year BGN-denominated government securities. The settlement date is May 15, 2024. The maturity date of the issue is May 15, 2030, and the coupon is fixed at 3.25%, paid semi-annually.

The Ministry offered Treasury bonds of BGN 200 million at aggregate nominal value. The May 13, 2024 auction resulted in the successful placement of government securities of a weighted annual average yield of 3.35 %. The reported spread to the analogous German Bunds is 93 basis points.

Bidders showed keen interest in the new government securities issues. The largest share (48%) was acquired by banks, followed by insurance companies (21%), pension funds (13%), contractual and guarantee funds (5%), investment firms (3%), and other investors (10%).
