Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition backs the return of the non-taxable minimum and a differentiated VAT for essential goods, said Vanya Grigorova, who tops the coalition’s ticket in the 25th Sofia multi-member constituency for the general elections and for the European vote on June 9. The coalition launched its election campaign on Saturday.
Grigorova outlined nine priorities: work, salaries, security, measures to prevent demographic collapse, preventing the draining of health and social security funds, consumer protection, preservation of Bulgarian energy, economy with high added value, peace, universal values and no censorship, disguised as a fight against fake news. “Oppressing the weaker and worshipping the stronger will be stopped the moment we enter Parliament,” said Grigorova.
Maya Manolova urged for a longer horizon beyond the elections. “The only organization that can stop the restoration of Borisov's one-man model is the Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition. We are the only ones who can be a brake on the return of thugs to power. That is why I offer you three things to say "no" to in this campaign: we will not coalesce with Boyko Borisov, we will not coalesce with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, we will not divide people into left and right, because people are poor, lied to by parties and robbed by monopolies,” Manolova said.
