The city of Taraclia on Thursday marked the 79th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. In the morning, citizens from the Taraclia region and other settlements of Moldova laid flowers and wreaths at the Brotherly Mound Monument. Meanwhile, the Immortal Regiment march and a musical-literary program "Living Memory of Past Years" was held, within which the authorities of the city and the region congratulated the public.
"About 400,000 inhabitants of Moldova fought in the Red Army, the exploits of 250,000 of them were awarded, 19 people became Heroes of the Soviet Union. Along with them fought 646 people from the Taraclia region, who did not live to see this day, "said representatives of the leadership of Taraclia from the stage. Тhe members of the public observed a minute of silence in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War. The observances ended with the performance of patriotic works by local artists.
