The 18th edition of World Theatre in Sofia will take place here between June 2 and 9, the organizers said.

The festival will be opened with the documentary play Living the Dream with Grandma, written, directed and performed by Laszlo Gondor, and staged at Aleko Konstantinov State Satirical Theatre.

On June 7, audiences at the State Satirical Theatre can see flamenco artist Eduardo Guerrero's latest show, Faro (Lighthouse), which will showcase various Spanish dance styles.

On July 1, the National Theatre will stage Timofey Kulyabin's Fear and Misery of the Third Empire, after Bertolt Brecht's Fear and Misery of the Third Reich.

The following day, the Bulgarian Army Theatre will present the Chinese traditional Kunqu opera The Charming Cheek among Peach Blossoms staged by the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe.

On July 9, Oskaras Korsunovas will stage his version of Shakespeare's Othello at the National Theatre.
