site.btaBilyana Savova Arranges New Exhibition "Metamorphoses"

Bulgarian painter Bilyana Savova is presenting her new exhibition "Metamorphoses". It consists of twenty paintings created in the period 2023 - 2024 and can be viewed from May 14 to 27 in the Sofia Press Gallery, the organizers said.

"Until recently known to the public mainly as an illustrator, watercolourist and jewellery designer, Bilyana Savova presents her new image as an abstract graphic and watercolour artist. The current exhibition testifies to a significant change in her development - the small format of her recent illustrations has given way to the larger format - the works reach 100/70 cm. In terms of subject preferences, it is striking that the fairy-tale element in the earlier works is gradually giving way to the everyday, inspired by the cycle of life and nature, enriched with mystical content and message," says art historian Dr. Margarita Kuzova.

Bilyana Savova is a lecturer in illustration at National High School of Polygraphy and Photography. She has published several children's books with original illustrations and is a well-known jewellery designer. She has done four solo exhibitions and taken part in collective exhibitions.
