Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will pay an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 8 at the invitation of his counterpart President Ilham Aliyev, his press office said on Tuesday. The delegation includes the caretaker Minister of Energy, the Chairman of the Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Friendship Group in the National Assembly and business representatives.
Strengthening and deepening of the bilateral strategic partnership in areas of mutual interest, including economy, energy, high technologies, innovations, transport and tourism, will be in the focus of President Rumen Radev's visit. The Bulgarian head of State will be welcomed with an official ceremony by the President of Azerbaijan. Rumen Radev and Ilham Aliyev will hold a one-on-one session and will lead the plenary talks between the delegations of the two countries, after which they will sign a joint declaration on advancing the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
In Baku Radev will meet with the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova will talk with Bulgarian specialists working in the field of sport in Azerbaijan. During his visit to Azerbaijan, the Bulgarian head of State will be accompanied by his wife Desislava Radeva.
