The first hydrogen charging station for Bulgaria and the region, which marks the beginning of hydrogen electric mobility in the country, will be unveiled on May 10, said the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). The station is part of the field laboratory Integrated Energy Systems of the Center of Competence Hitmobile. The Hitmobile Competence Center, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences are organizers. Co-organizers are the companies involved in the implementation of the project: Aquachim, Monbat and Delectra.
The Integrated Energy Systems field laboratory was presented at a final press conference in December 2023 at the Hitmobile Center for Competence. Special attention was paid to the first hydrogen charging station in Bulgaria. The event took place in the conference hall of the leading organization – the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems, and was opened by Director Dr. Plamen Nikolov.
"The Hitmobile project is not only important to us, it is important for the whole country because it is part of our efforts to make Bulgaria a leader in clean energy and contribute to the fight against climate change," said Nikolov. Evelina Slavcheva made a presentation with which she noted some of the most important achievements during the implementation of the project for the Hitmobile Competence Center, briefly tracing the chronology of its implementation. The project activities are carried out in six specialized laboratories in Bulgaria.
