site.btaBulgarians Form Fourth Largest Group of Visitors in Turkiye in Q1 of 2024

Bulgarians formed the fourth largest group of tourists in Turkiye in the first quarter of 2024, with a total of 575,000 visiting during the period, according to statistics put out by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Tuesday.

The figures show a 13.37% increase of foreign tourists in the first quarter of 2024 to a total of 7.04 million. Istanbul (3.76 million tourists) and Antalya (857,000 tourists) are once again Turkiye’s most visited cities.

Iran, Germany and Russia topped the list of countries of origin of the visiting tourists. A total of 737,500 Iranians, 688,000 Germans and 682,000 Russians visited Turkiye.

Georgians formed the fifth largest group of tourists in Turkiye for the same period with a total of 329,000 visitors.

Recently, the Turkish authorities announced that they intend to receive a total of some 60 million tourists in 2024.
