site.btaBTA to Clean Up and Light Facade in Sofia Building with Support from Beautiful Bulgaria Project
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) will clean up the facade of its building in Sofia and will install new lighting. The two projects were approved under Beautiful Bulgaria, part of the programme of the Labour and Social Policy Ministry. The two projects are worth a total of BGN 557,961.
The three entrances will be renovated and a wheelchair ramp will be installed at the main entrance. A reading room will open for access to BTA's archive materials and the existing ramp will be renovated. The MaxiM Hall and the National Press Club will be provided with wheelchair ramps.
The ongoing modernization of BTA's building is intended to make it more accessible. A new lift went into operation on January 23 to facilitate access to the National Press Club on the top floor. The project worth slightly over BGN 250,000 (exclusive of VAT) was financed by BTA.
The news agency also improved its backyard by building a new parking lot in 2023 under the Beautiful Bulgaria project. Construction and renovation works on the area of 1,695 square metres cost BGN 255,381, of which 45% came under Beautiful Bulgaria and 55% were provided by BTA.
