Bulgaria’s National Assembly will have a second reading of the amendments to the Republic of Bulgaria Defence and Armed Forces Act on Friday. This will be the first item on Friday’s agenda published on Parliament’s website.

With the revisions, the remuneration of military personnel will increase by an average of 30% as of January 1, 2025, while maintaining the established differentiation between military ranks and positions. The amendments were adopted on first reading in Parliament on April 19.

The second item on the agenda is a debate on the ratification of a draft international contract for Amendment No. 2 to the Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) BU-D-SAB "F-16 Block 70 aircraft and associated support" under the US Foreign Military Sales programme.

Friday’s agenda also includes Question Time. Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova, caretaker Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Kasabova, caretaker Minister of Health Galya Kondeva, caretaker Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov, and caretaker Minister of Environment and Water Petar Dimitrov are scheduled to take part in it.
