We have submitted a motion for the resignation of the National Assembly Chair, Continue the Change co-leader Assen Vassilev told journalists in Pazardzhik. He added that the motion was signed by MPs from the BSP for Bulgaria in addition to CC-DB deputies.

The motion will be considered on Thursday.

"The motion for the resignation of Rosen Zhelyazkov was submitted with the clear motives that he abused his position more than once. In the case with the head of National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), who was not given the floor to explain that he had withdrawn his resignation. Overall, we show a "red card" to GERB for the work in the last three months," Continue the Change co-leader Kiril Petkov.

"We know that Vazrazhdane also have such an initiative, but we collected signatures only among Continue the Change and BSP. The plenary will see which party will vote, Petkov said.

Later in a press release, the CC said that the National Assembly chair abuses his powers and authority, and works in the interests of the political bloc GERB- MRF.

The specific motives for the motion include violation of the procedure for early termination of the mandate of the governor of the National Health Insurance Fund; systematic abuse of the right in extraordinary cases, the President may propose an amendment of the agenda at the beginning of the plenary sitting; violations in the conduct of Question Time.
