The CEO of the Indian national news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), Vijay Joshi, is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of BTA Director General Kiril Valchev. Joshi's visit starts from Plovdiv, where he has already visited the National Press Club of BTA in the regional city.

Press Trust of India is the leading news agency of India, with coverage over the whole country. The country is divided into 29 states and seven union territories, and PTI has offices in all of them, Joshi said. The agency employs 46 people in the second largest city, Mumbai. PTI has 14 correspondents outside India. In Europe, they are stationed in London and Amsterdam. BTA Director General Kiril Valchev has extended an official invitation to PTI to set up an office in Sofia as well.

BTA and the Indian agency are members of MINDS International (Media Innovation Network), an association of 25 leading news agencies from around the world for cooperation in the field of information services. BTA was unanimously accepted as a member of the organization at the 32nd conference held in Helsinki, Finland in April 2022. The two agencies have signed a cooperation agreement for exchange of news and knowhow.
