The size of the fiscal reserve as of April 18 is BGN 10.9 billion, said Caretaker Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova at a briefing at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint.

She agreed that in the past week the dispute over what is available in the treasury has escalated. Petkova recalled that on April 9, former finance minister Assen Vassilev indicated the sum of BNG 9.9 billion, while her check showed BGN 6.7 billion.

Petkova noted that one part of the difference was obtained as a result of the cabinet's decision to purchase the receivables of Bulgargaz, Bulgarian Energy Holding and Toplofikatsia, and another was from regular payments and payment of pensions.

A decision regarding the receivables from Toplofikatsia was canceled and thus 1.6 billion returned to the budget, explained Petkova. She stressed that the fiscal reserve is a variable quantity. There is a comprehensive plan to increase revenue collection, assured Petkova.

She also informed that there is a meeting in Brussels next week with the EU Commissioner for Economy, where the Recovery and Resilience Plan will be discussed, as the second payment under the Plan is scheduled for this year.
