After the Bulgarian team received a score of 35.750 for its five-hoop composition at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku on Friday night, it was ranked fourth for the all-around. The President of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (BRFG), Iliana Raeva, resented the judges' score, which had her leave a comment under the BRFG Facebook page later Friday: "Our team was unscrupulously wronged! It's no wonder we had to file a complaint for the first time!"

The complaint was however dismissed. In another post, Raeva stated that the 2024 European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics, scheduled to take place between May 3 and 5, will be the last competition in Baku that will have Bulgarian participation, after which "Bulgaria will not set foot there again!"

Raeva also criticized the judges for the outrageously low artistry scores they gave for the performances of gymnasts Elvira Krasnobaeva and Eva Brezalieva.

The World Cup in Baku is taking place between April 19 and 21.

The Bulgarian ensemble finished fourth in the all-around event.

Magdalena Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vassileva received a score of 32.550 points for their performance on three ribbons and two balls after committing minor inaccuracies. Vesela Dimitrova's pupils scored 68.300 points (35.750 on five hoops and 32.550 on three ribbons and two balls) and stayed a step away from the podium, finishing in fourth position.

The ensemble Spain won the gold medal with 70.450 points.
