Parliament adopted on first reading here on Thursday amendments to the Higher Education Act related to the education of people granted temporary protection on the territory of Bulgaria. The legislation aims to provide access to higher education, under facilitated conditions, to persons granted temporary protection on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. This should help them to continue their development by providing better employment prospects.

The bill, submitted by Hristo Daskalov of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, Krasimir Valchev of GERB-UDF, Stanislav Anastassov of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and other MPs, was supported by 103 MPs, with one vote against and 40 abstentions.
