site.btaParliament Abolishes Plenary Sittings, Committee Meetings during Election Campaigns
Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs Wednesday adopted changes to parliamentary rules, which provide for regular plenary sittings and committee meetings not to be held during election campaigns.
The amendment was proposed by Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria. According to it, Parliament should not hold sittings from the opening of the election campaign until a newly elected National Assembly is convened.
MP Maya Dimitrova of the Bulgarian Socialist Party proposed that Parliament’s Question Time should continue to take place during the election campaign but was rejected.
