site.btaPresident Radev: Armed Forces Modernization Requires Also Development of Infrastructure
President and Commander-in-Chief Rumen Radev discussed the development of modern defence capabilities of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in the context of the challenges facing the changed global security environment at a meeting with NATO Assistant Secretary General Angus Lapsley, who is visiting Bulgaria, said his press secretariat on Monday.
On the agenda were also the increase of military mobility within the Alliance, the promotion of joint research and development in the field of defence and the member states' investments in defence. The process of modernization of the Armed Forces involves not only the acquisition of modern equipment, but also the improvement and development of critical infrastructure, including through the implementation of projects to increase connectivity between member states, Radev said at the meeting.
