site.btaSofia Medical University to Host Annual Meeting of 54 European Medical Faculties

The Medical University  in Sofia will host the annual meeting of the International Association of Medical Faculties (ECTS Medicine Association), which starts on April 18. The event will bring together more than 90 delegates from 53 leading medical universities and faculties from the European Union (EU), Switzerland and the European Economic Area, the university said.

Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and ECTS MA President Juan Arguelles of the University of Oviedo, Spain are expected to address participants.

New members will be admitted during the General Assembly - the University of Augsburg in Germany, Universite  Paris Cite in France, the Medical University of Poznan in Poland, the Catholic University of Valencia, Spain, and Uppsala University in Sweden.

ECTS MA was established to promote the mobility of students and teachers under the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. That is why part of the event will be Erasmus Staff Week - training of administrators and coordinators of the Erasmus + program. Topics related to medical curricula, internationalization at home and project application opportunities will be discussed.
