At the end of March, 582,453,492 banknotes were in circulation in Bulgaria, according to data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), published on its website. Compared with the end of February, they increased by 0.18% (581,407,425 bills).

The largest number of banknotes in circulation were again those with a denomination of BGN 50 – 240, 444, 904, followed by the banknotes of BGN 100 – 133, 189, 861 and those with a denomination of BGN 20 – 98, 200, 556.

At the end of March, the value of banknotes in circulation was BGN 28,253,141,535. Compared with the end of February, the increase is 0.4% (BGN 28,141,349,170).

In the first quarter of the year, 225 counterfeit banknotes in circulation were registered and seized.

Most of them have a denomination of 50 leva - 83 pieces. 77 counterfeit banknotes with a denomination of BGN 20, 50 with a denomination of BGN 100, 14 with a denomination of BGN 10, a banknote with a denomination of BGN 5 were also registered and retained.
