Ahead of a Vazrazhdane-organized conference titled "Europe's New Leaders" here on Friday, party leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that "this European Union must be renegotiated, our membership must also be renegotiated, otherwise, we must organize a referendum to leave [the EU]".

Friday's conference will bring together political parties from nine countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Serbia, Hungary, Sweden and Switzerland) in Sofia's Grand Hotel Millennium. The event will be attended by leaders and representatives of parties from across Europe that share political views close to those of the Bulgarian nationalist Vazrazhdane party.

"The purpose of this conference is to send a clear message that the current policy of the European Union and European elites can no longer go on like this. It is harmful. It is dangerous. Both for us, Bulgarians, and for European civilization," Kostadinov said.

"It cannot go on like this. We are ready to take power and governance into our own hands, each one in their own country, for the sake of European civilization, which, unfortunately, is threatened by all sorts of policies - from migrant policies to policies encouraging the war in Ukraine," the Vazrazhdane leader said.

Kostadinov also pointed out that his party's goal for the upcoming European elections will be to become "a factor in the European Union".
