site.btaParliament Approves Easter Supplement of BGN 100 for Pensioners below Poverty Line

Parliament approved on second reading amendments to the Public Social Insurance Budget Act, which provide for a one-off Easter supplement of BGN 100 for pensioners below the poverty line. Parliament approved the proposal with 138 votes in favour and 42 abstentions.

The National Assembly rejected the Bulgarian Socialist Party’s proposal that all pensioners should receive a one-off supplement of BGN 50 for the Easter holidays.

A one-off supplement of BGN 100 will receive all pensioners who receive a monthly pension or monthly sum of pensions, including supplements and compensations for April 2024, of up to BGN 526.

The adopted texts enter into force retroactively from April 1.
