Bulgarian President Rumen Radev conferred with Czech President Petr Pavel on Thursday, the Bulgarian Presidency press service reported. The meeting took place as part of the ninth Three Seas Initiative (TSI) Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Radev highly appreciated Czechia's active support for Bulgaria's full accession to the Schengen area, as well as for Bulgaria's membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. "The abolition of land border controls in the Schengen area will open up greater economic opportunities in the region, which is why we count on Czechia's consistent support," Radev said.

In the context of Pavel's planned visit to Bulgaria, the two presidents noted the potential for deepening bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as the opportunities for cooperation in the security sector.
