site.btaParliamentary Committee Backs Amendments in Connection with EU Blue Card Holders
The parliamentary committee on e-Government and Information Technology on Wednesday supported amendments to the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act.
The draft aims to create a legal possibility to change the employer after the first 12 months of highly qualified employment; to change the position occupied by the EU Blue Card holder; to carry out specific official work by EU Blue Card holders issued in another Member State, without requiring any other permission than the EU Blue Card residence permit and a regular passport.
The aim is to streamline the procedure for granting the right of permanent residence to investors by entrusting the Bulgarian Investment Agency with the verification of the investment conditions to be met. Specific requirements and documents in the procedure for granting the right of residence to representatives of foreign companies are set out in detail. Penalties are provided for administrative offences of foreigners who have not complied with the legislation in force regulating the right of residence and work in the Republic of Bulgaria.
