The President of North Macedonia and candidate for a second term, nominated by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, told reporters in Delcevo, North Macedonia, on Wednesday that he proposes a real debate in which his opponent will not be VMRO-DPMNE presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska, but VMRO-DPMNE Chair Hristijan Mickoski.

Pendarovski was adamant that the proposed constitutional amendments are far from threatening, as they would serve to add six nationalities to the seven already listed there.

Pendarovski said: "For the opposition it was a mortal sin, so they said they disagreed. When we ask them what they propose, they say they will renegotiate all the treaties - the one with Greece, the one with Bulgaria, the EU negotiating framework and even the Ohrid Framework Agreement, because they do not recognize them. But when you ask them how they will do it, they remain silent. They say: vote us in and we will tell you on Monday, after the elections. They are selling political smoke. A serious person running for a serious office should not play games and underestimate people's intelligence."
