At its meeting on Tuesday, the Central Election Commission (CEC) adopted a schedule for the upcoming 2-in-1 elections for members of European Parliament and for a National Assembly which will take place on June 9. 

According to the document, no later than April 12, the CEC shall determine the terms and conditions for the formation of electoral sections outside the country, including the conditions, order and organization for voting by Bulgarian citizens outside the country, and shall send information to the Foreign Ministry.

No later than April 19, the he CEC will compile a list of voting stations outside the country, in which at least one polling station was formed with no less than 100 voters in elections held in the previous 5 years. Voting for members of European Parliament will only be conducted in EU member states. 

Between April 15 and 24, the parties and coalitions will apply to register for participation in the elections with the CEC. No later than April 24, the CEC will register the parties and coalitions which will participate in both elections.

Initiative committees have to submit applications for registration to the CEC for participation in both elections by April 29.

Parties, coalitions and initiative committees can make proposals to the CEC for the registration of candidate lists for both the EP elections and the parliamentary elections by May 7.

The CEC will determine by lot the consecutive numbers in the ballots of the parties, coalitions and initiative committees for the elections for members of the EP, respectively of the parties and coalitions for the parliamentary elections, and will announce them no later than May 8.

The election campaign will begin at 12 am on May 10 and will end at midnight on June 7.
