Bulgarian Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova told journalists at her Ministry on Tuesday that the Rumen Spetsov will stay on as National Revenue Agency (NRA) Executive Director and the National Customs Agency will be headed by Georgi Dimov (so far NRA Deputy Executive Director).

National Customs Agency Director Petya Bankova was recently arrested for suspected participation in an organized crime group.

The newly appointed Director of the National Customs Agency Georgi Dimov holds a university degree in Economics and Commerce Management from Sofia's University of National and World Economy. Between 1998 and early 2012, he held various expert and order-giving positions in the revenue administration, mainly in control entities. He then worked for private financial firms. Between May 14, 2021 and December 12, 2022 and since June 8, 2023, he has been Deputy Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency.
