This year's Sofia Summer Fest will begin on July 18 and will run until September 18, the event's organisers said.

The fifth edition of the festival will focus on theatre and film. During the weekends, there will also be children's shows and a festival for Bulgarian children's films. There will also be a library which will host book presentations and meetings with authors, said Borislav Chuchkov, programme director of Sofia Summer Fest.

The festival will open with a concert by Bulgarian pop legend Vasil Naydenov.

The organizers said that they reduced the time of the festival as well as the concerts, to accommodate for noise complaints.
