Turkiye has an important role for European security, said Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Bozay during the EU Meets the Balkans Forum in Sofia on Monday.

Bozay said that with regard to the European Union's enlargement, the stability of the countries is important in view of the war in Ukraine, global changes, the green transition, digitalization. Energy security is also a matter of national security, he added.

Bozay noted that politicians should not exhaust people with too much talk of enlargement, people should feel as a part of the EU, and the same should apply to the member state, he said, adding that Turkiye and Moldova will be members of the EU.
