French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Holds 5th Edition of Its Innovation Awards

On Thursday evening, the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) honoured the winners in the six categories of the Innovation Awards competition, organized in cooperation with Sofia Municipality (SO), at an official ceremony on the occasion of the fifth jubilee edition of the initiative.

The award in the Innovative Idea category went to Eldrive Bulgaria, with runners up Hyrdogenera and MYSynergy.

The Innovative Project Award went to Melexis, with contenders Eldrive Bulgaria and Ride Share Bulgaria, known for the Spark trademark.

The company Capto won in Innovative Start-up Company Award, against the Tube plant company.

The winner of the Corporate and Social Responsibility Award was Odaya Home for their contribution to preserve traditions and bring them to our modern times. Eldrive was also a contender for the award.

Peter Roebben, Country Manager of KBC Group in Bulgaria and CEO of UBB, was honoured with the Business Personality Award. The jury recognized his contribution to the acquisition and merger of Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) and the digital assistant developed by the financial institution. Ruben's competitors were Milena Ramcheva, Executive Director of Metrica, Dragomir Ivanov, founder and CEO of Hydrogenera, and Celine Bolard, CEO of Groupama Bulgaria.

Proxiad received a special jury award for a level of innovation, impact on society, progress in project implementation. Capto and Melexis were also contenders in this category.

Official guests of the jubilee edition of the Innovation Awards included the Ambassador of France to Bulgaria, Joel Meyer, outgoing Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva, Mila Nenova, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency.

The Innovation Awards competition aims to recognize individuals and companies that have demonstrated  ingenuity in their respective fields. Laureates will receive one year of free membership in the chamber and mentoring by the FBCCI team and members.

This year's participants also had the opportunity to apply in the Innovative Urban Solutions category in partnership with Sofia Municipality. The award went to management software developer AIoT Cloud. 

Within the framework of the ceremony, a short discussion on innovations in enterprises and municipalities was held with moderator Konstantin Valkov, Program Director of Darik Radio, with the participation of Nikola Barbutov, Francois Deberg, Regional Director of Veolia for Bulgaria and Greece and Evgeni Borisov, co-founder of Pontica Solutions and part of the project Bulgaria Wants You.
