President Rumen Radev’s decision to select Bulgarian National Audit Office President Dimitar Glavchev as caretaker prime minister-designate triggered reactions among the politicians. On Saturday, Radev assigned Glavchev to propose a cabinet lineup. "This mandate must be fulfilled in seven days. I'll be expecting to have your cabinet lineup proposal by next Saturday at the latest. Then, I will invite the parliamentary groups for the mandatory consultations," the head of State said. Radev argued that he has set a one-week deadline so that it would be possible to hold snap parliamentary elections and European elections simultaneously.

Outgoing Prime Minister Denkov: Dimitar Glavchev is part of the GERB nomenclature. With all due respect to him, it is clear that he is a party person.

Continue the Change co-leader Kiril Petkov: The President chose a well-known political figure of GERB. Our political figures will not be part of this [caretaker] cabinet under no circumstances.

GERB MP Toma Bikov: We do not meddle in caretaker governments. We have no [GERB-affiliated] President since Mr [Rosen] Plevneliev's term ended. What I heard is that he [Dimitar Glavchev] was the only option.

Union of Democratic Forces leader Rumen Hristov: Dimitar Glavchev, whom I know, is an extremely responsible and principled man. I hope that he will conscientiously carry out the duties he is taking on and that he will conduct fair [parliamentary] elections that are in favour of all political formations. As far as I understand from the President, he was the only one who has accepted this difficult task. Secondly, it is the President's right to choose, from the ten persons who have been named who could fill this position.

Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov: Thanks to Continue the Change-Democratic (CC-DB) Bulgaria we will have a caretaker cabinet of GERB and the MRF [Movement for Rights and Freedoms] because they work extremely well in sync.

Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Korneliya Ninova: CC-DB returned Boyko Borissov to power. The caretaker prime minister-designate Dimitar Glavchev is 200% GERB.

There Is Such a People leader Slavi Trifonov: CC-DB gave the list of prime minister-designates to the President, all linked to GERB.
