Addressing the first National Meeting with organizations of tour guides in Bulgaria, outgoing Tourism Minister Zaritza Dinkova said that tour guides are ambassadors of Bulgaria as a destination, and they are the people who make this country reach the heart of every tourist. Dinkova was cited in a press release of her ministry on Tuesday.

Dinkova stressed that the last few years have been extremely difficult for tourism in Bulgaria. She also summed up the results of the joint efforts of everyone employed in the tourism industry - a 70% increase in early bookings by British tourists for the 2024 summer season, a 30% increase in bookings by British tourists for the 2025 summer season. There is also increased interest in summer holidays for the 2024 season by German tourists, whose numbers rose by 20%, the outgoing minister explained.

The meeting brought together dozens of organizations of tour guides, as well as representatives of municipalities, the Bulgarian Museums Association, Consumer Protection Agency, and the National Association of Municipalities.
