site.btaExecutive Agency Automobile Administration Workers to Stage Protest
Starting March 27, workers in the regional departments of the Executive Agency Automobile Administration (EAAA) and members of the Podkrepa Labor Confederation will stage protests in different cities across Bulgaria. Stoycho Stoychev of the strike committee told BTA.
The demonstrations will involve agency employees from Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Kyustendil, Montana, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Silistra, Sliven, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen. The protesters demand an increase in salaries by 30%, as well as recruitment of at least 200 more road control inspectors, administrative service employees and employees with legal education. They also demand that they be provided with quality work clothes and that working conditions be improved.
Stoychev clarified that the protest will be in accordance with the Arbitration Agreement signed by the EAAA and the representatives of the Podkrepa Labor Confederation in the agency on the allowed strike actions.
He said that the EAAA management has not fulfilled a partial agreement with its workers and has not increased their wages as promised.
