The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has announced a public procurement for contracting activities to ensure machine voting for the European Parliament elections in June 2024. This is stated in a CEC decision from Monday.

The activities include testing the voting machines and their built-in peripherals, printers and smart card readers; preparation; installation of operating systems and application software; parameterization and equipment of the specialized devices for electronic machine voting (EMV), technical maintenance of the EVM in pre-election and election day by seat/relevant electoral section and provision of a Support Center in case of problems with the EMV in the elections for European Parliament members from the Republic of Bulgaria. The decision of the CEC states that this would cost about BGN 6,282,000 without VAT or BGN 7,538,400 with VAT included. 

Also subject to the order is the provision of the logistics of the voting machines. This would cost about BGN 784,000 without VAT or BGN 940,800 with VAT included. VAT.

The total estimated value of the public procurement is BGN 7,066,000 excluding VAT or BGN 8,479,200 including VAT.
