Burgas will be the Bulgarian candidate to host the European Shooting Championships in 2026, Manol Todorov, Deputy Mayor of Burgas for Sports and Tourism, said on Wednesday.

The municipality pointed out that among the advantages of Burgas are the new sports arena in the city, the good connectivity to the international airports in Burgas and Istanbul, as well as the excellent infrastructure and hotel base.

Bulgarian Shooting Union President Vesela Letcheva is expected to officially present Bulgaria's candidacy to host the event on March 1. The bid will be presented at the European Shooting Confederation meeting in Gyor, Hungary, where this year's European Shooting Championships are currently being held.
