Any price increase should be a valid ground for mobile customers to terminate their contract with operators penalty-free, according to a bill amending the Electronic Communications Act tabled by Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), its press office said on Thursday.

The bill seeks to ensure stable contracts with mobile operators, competition between operators and freedom for customers to choose a particular operator.

Antoaneta Tsoneva MP of CC-DB said: "With this bill, we start the fight against a monopoly and help people defend their rights."

The bill also aims to boost competition by introducing virtual network operators as is the case in Greece, Turkiye, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia, said Tsoneva.
