A total of 23 people wanted by Interpol, including Bulgarian citizens, were detained during police operations in six districts of Turkiye. The detainees were wanted for murder, terrorist crimes, fraud, money laundering, abuse, participation in criminal organizations, drugs and smuggling, Turkish media said.
The detainees were issiued a red and green Interpol notice and were citizens of 12 countries - Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, South Korea, Iraq, Iran, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia, Turkmenistan and Jordan, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, quoted by TRT Haber.
The operation, carried out under the code name Cell-43, was carried out simultaneously in six districts of the country - Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Izmir and Van. It was implemented together with teams of the Turkish General Directorate of Security and the Interpol Bureau in Turkiye after a long investigation of the suspects.
