Sofia students will have three weeks to work together on real business cases from the experience of companies affiliated with the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria. Titled AmCham Bulgaria Hackathon, the cross-functional social event initiated by AmCham in partnership with Technical University Sofia (TU) and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia, opened at the Technical University Excellence Centre on Monday, said TU and AmCham.
The participants are third- and fourth-year students of TU and the Sofia University Faculty of Economics.
The hackathon aims at a better match between university studies and practical work and needs in business; showcase the good practices of established companies in Bulgaria and possibly retain students in Bulgaria. It is an opportunity for the students to work on real business cases and get mentored by experts from the business. Students will have a chance to obtain knowledge, skills, and experience, and establish direct contact with companies and explore career opportunities.
At the end of the hackathon, the teams of students will present the solution to their business case in front of a jury.
