Iskra Mihaylova was elected Secretary of the Vazrazhdane parliamentary group in the place of Nikolay Denchev, who was expelled from the group earlier in the day, Parliament Deputy Chair Rositsa Kirova (Vazrazhdane) said from the rostrum on Friday. Denchev, Alexander Arangelov, and Ivo Rouschev were expelled over failure to comply with the group's and the party's policy, Kirova specified.

In accordance with the Rules of Organization of the National Assembly, the expelled MPs lose their seats in parliamentary commissions. Arangelov was a member of the Committee on Internal Security and Public Order and the Committee on Human Rights, Religion and Citizens' Complaints. Rouschev was on the Defence Committee and the Constitutional Affairs Committee. Drenchev chaired the Committee for Control of Security Services, Application and Use of Special Intelligence Means and Data Access under the Electronic Communications Act and was also on the Defence Committee.
