The Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) assisted the Spanish Antarctic bases "Juan Carlos I" on Livingston Island and "Gabriel de Castilla" on Deception Island by transporting the Spanish scientists and logisticians.
