Bulgarian writer Zdravka Evtimova has won the best author award of the US platform Critters. She was awarded after a traditional vote within the community of readers and writers of sci-fi, Evtimova said.

In addition to the best author category, Evtimova was also awarded in the categories of best science fiction and fantasy novel and best novel with magical realism elements for her novel He May Wear My Silence.

He May Wear My Silence has been recognized by Critters before. Participants in the platform’s 26th Annual Readers Poll named the illustration Storm Coming the most impactful front-cover artwork. Storm Coming was created specially for Evtimova’s book by Hugo Award winner Bob Eggleton, who was also awarded in this category.

The novel He May Wear My Silence was published in the US by Starship Sloane Publishing Company. It invited Evtimova to submit a sci-fi novel after her short story For Dimitar, a Poet received the most votes in the Critters Annual Readers Poll in the short stories with sci-fi elements category in January 2023.
